SummerShine is a non-denominational Christian ministry that exists to give Christians practical job experience through a work-based mission.
SummerShine accomplishes this mission by recruiting and training dedicated Christians to work for family campgrounds (not Summer Camps!) during the summer. SummerShiners are employed by the campground but are recruited by SummerShine to live, work, and serve as powerful witnesses to the grace of Christ on the campground. They do this by working hard and by facilitating creative, recreational activities for campers.
The role of the activities director is to lead the campground activities program and serve other duties on the campground as directed by management. This person leads the way in demonstrating the integration of work and ministry. On the Mt Rushmore KOA campground, the Activities Director will also lead the SummerShine team of 10-12 young adults in work, in recreation, and in following Christ.
