Assistant Pastor/Minister of Adult Ministries – Leader Development-Discipleship
The Assistant Pastor/Minister is responsible to form and execute aspects of spiritual leadership development through St. Andrew’s Leadership Institute (SALI) and our vocational theology initiative. In addition, serves as a leader in the congregation and community at large, using high- touch, relational ministry principles. The Assistant Pastor/Minister maintains a lifestyle and ministry consistent with Scripture, the mission, values and bylaws of St. Andrew’s, and the essential tenets of ECO. Possesses a solid, thorough knowledge and understanding of Scripture and commitment to its authority, undergirded by a deep love and desire to teach God’s word; is devoted to prayer.
Responsibilities
Leadership Development: Provide strategic leadership (in collaboration with, and under the direction of the Lead Pastor) in the formation and execution of a new leader development initiative including:
Vocational Theology Platform
- Utilizing a theological understanding of vocation and discipleship in the context of the marketplace.

- This may be realized through creating cohorts, mentorship, and seminars.
- Network and develop partnerships in the non-profit and business community to support this initiative.
SALI-Post High School and SALI-Post Grad
- Lead and grow SALI- Post Grad: a 9-month intensive leadership and mentoring experience for recent college and seminary graduates.
- Expand SALI to include high school graduates in a “gap-year” program.
Congregational Leadership
- Pastoral duties and responsibilities such as participation in worship services, teaching, pastoral care, missions as part of the leadership of our faith community.
Experience/ Education
- Bachelor’s degree required; theological training and education preferred.
- Ten years combined experience in ministry and the marketplace.
Candidate Personality
- Highly entrepreneurial, strategic thinker with the ability to be a self directed innovator.
- Connects well with the wide range of ages, stages, and individual personalities in our multi-generational church and community.
- Cultivator and equipper of leaders–not simply a “doer” but a “builder.”
- Motivated and energized by teamwork and collaboration; is able to effectively organize and delegate; demonstrates an ability to be flexible in support of the larger goal.
- Relational visionary leader demonstrating outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
