The Big Picture

Hansville Community Church (hansvillechurch.org) is seeking an Assistant Pastor.

The Church

Hansville Community Church is building followers of Jesus in our unique corner of the world, and we are excited to see how God will continue to lead us. We are a small non-denominational church (under 100) in a Washington small town that is looking to add to our pastoral team. This area is a mission field, being in the seventh least churched county in the nation.

The Candidate

We’ve identified that our family ministry and worship ministry need clear and decisive direction, but other areas also need help. We are firm believers in a team approach to pastoral care that necessitates versatility and flexibility. We highly recommend reading Simple Church by Rainer and Silos, Politics and Turf Wars by Lencioni to get an idea of our model. With that said, the man we’re looking for will have expertise in the areas of worship, family ministries and outreach, as well as ready to serve in whatever capacity is needed. Competitive full-time salary for our area and size.

The Qualifications

• Beliefs:
  • Knows Christ as personal his Savior and Lord and willing to testify accordingly.
  • Agrees with the doctrinal statement and bylaws of HCC, and will show agreement through membership (see them here:LINK).
• Character:
  • Has an unchallenged mature Christian character.
  • Has a demonstrated ability to work multi-generationally.
  • Has relationships with family, associates, and friends that honor the Lord.
  • Has the biblical qualifications of a minister (1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1).
• Competency:
  • Able to handle the Bible with theological depth.
  • Able to disciple others to follow Jesus.
  • Able to lead a small group, and equip others to do so.
  • Be a strong organizer.
  • Be good at connecting with all people.
  • Technological competency a plus, especially in:
    • Audio systems, streaming video.
    • Web tools for communication.
    • Graphic design a plus.
• Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Christian institution, or equivalent experience required. MDiv a plus.
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three to five years of experience in leading or assisting with church ministry (Includes volunteer work).
  • Administrative skill and experience.
  • Familiarity with the Northwest is important.
