Purpose: To manage healthy, multiplying community groups and adult education opportunities.
Reports to: Executive Pastor
Peers with: Pastoral Staff: Worship Pastor, Youth Pastor, Children’s Ministry Director, Operations Director
Ongoing Responsibilities:
- Carry out the day to day strategy and implementation for adult education.
- Encourage, care for, and develop community group leaders.
- Work with Senior Pastor and Executive Pastor related to community group leader training.
- Work with community group leaders engage in on-the-job apprenticing so potential leaders are raised up to multiply new groups.
- Coordinate with our connection manager to place people into groups and launch new groups.
- Help with our Discover process related to community groups.
- Attend staff meetings and be the champion for adult education and connection.
- Work with Senior and Executive Pastor to enhance the current education structure and classes.
- Membership, spiritual maturity, spiritual gifts, theology, etc.
- Resource and train teachers.
- Share the load of pastoral responsibilities: e.g. communion, baptisms, funerals, weddings, pastoral situations, counseling, etc.
- Be a member of the program staff team and help lead the execution of the church mission, vision and values.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Elder qualified per 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.

- Able to function well in a pastoral team where adapting to growth where change is the norm.
Competence Preferred:
- Demonstrated leadership.
- Team Player.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
- Relationally strong…able to model healthy community in leadership team.
- Effective communicator with small to mid-size groups (e.g. leader’s gatherings).
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Demonstrated lifelong learner.
- Able to wisely apply and communicate God’s Word to both young & old.
- Executor of plans through leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead the leaders in a local church context.
- Has successfully led a small group.
- Able to cast vision, recruit, equip volunteer leaders.
