 Requirements & Qualifications:

• Strong belief in and support for Reformed theology and Biblical Reformed Preaching
• Demonstrate living out of character described in passages such as Titus 1:5-9 and 1 Timothy 3:1-7
• Demonstrate ability to operate cross-culturally in a multi-cultural community
• Possess a heart for urban missions and outreach in Elmhurst and New York City
• Willingness to reside within the community of Newtown; church parsonage option available
• Willingness to pursue ordination in the RCA

Responsibilities (including, but not limited to the following):

 Plan and lead the worship services of the church

• Preach and teach the Word of God as written in the Old and New Testaments
• Administer the Sacraments once a month
• Visit the sick in homes and hospitals; to contact inactive members; to contact prospective members, inviting them into the community of the church
• Train and encourage members to care for each other as an example of their love for Christ
• Provide premarital counseling and other counseling to families and individuals of the church
• Encourage and lead the church to declare the gospel in the community and among the nations
• Serve as an example of personal evangelism
• Shepherding and building relationships with individuals in the church
• Disciple and equip people for the work of ministry

Compensation:

• Salary $39,000 – $68,000, based on RCA guidelines, candidate’s ministry experience, and housing arrangements
