Children’s Ministry Team Leader

Flexible, part time position – approximately 20-25 hours per week

Reports to Lead Pastor

Purpose: To lead and equip the Children’s Ministry and provide administrative support and ministry connections for volunteers and families.  This position plays a vital role in carrying out the mission of HCC by helping children and families be followers of Jesus and live His way of life.

 Qualifications:

  • A follower of Jesus and His way of life of loving God, loving others, and making disciples.
  • A heart for discipling children/families at Hope and beyond.
  • Strong relational and people skills, strategic thinker, commitment to team ministry.
  • An ability to recruit and collaborate with a diverse age range, backgrounds and personalities.
  • Able to manage time efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of team.
  • Ability to work with the unique aspects of a volunteer organization.
  • Committed to confidentiality in church related matters.

 Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Children’s Ministry Team.
  • Oversee Sunday morning Children’s program, maintaining a welcoming and safe environment with classes fully staffed and supported.
  • Recruit and integrate our youth and other adult volunteers into a multi-generational children’s ministry.
  • Develop and oversee events and programs that will provide additional connection and discipleship with children and families (e.g., VBS, fun events, etc.).
  • Work with the Youth Ministry program to develop a cohesive discipleship pathway for our children and youth.
  • Continued personal and professional development as it pertains to children’s ministry and spiritual development.
  • Work with the Pastors and Finance Committee to develop and oversee the children’s ministries annual budget.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings.
