Director of Children’s Ministry

Part-time $20,800.00

20 hours per week mostly on the church campus or visiting families

Vision and Mission:

To equip children and parents to know Jesus and follow Him by providing a pathway of discipleship.

Desired Education: Ministry Degree or Education Degree from a Christian University

Working Relationship:

The Director of Children’s Ministry will report to the Lead Pastor and be held accountable by the deacons. The effectiveness of the Director of Children’s Ministry will be largely determined by the quality of the relationship and partnership with the Lead Pastor, the children’s leadership team, and parents. Maintaining the highest levels of communication, trust, integrity, and loyalty are essential to this relationship.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Oversee the Children’s Ministry experience:

  • Lead and disciple the volunteer ministry staff (teachers/helpers) recruiting, training, scheduling, supervising, and supporting volunteers who assist in Children’s Ministry activities.
  • Select age-appropriate curriculum for Sunday Children’s Ministry ages 0-6th grade, not necceserly lead, but oversee VBS, and special events like our Harvest Festival & Easter activities.
  • Create and communicate a clear vision for Children’s Ministry.
  • Provide a safe childcare environment for infants and toddlers along with K-6th grade.
  • Manage the overall health and safety policies in Children’s Ministry, including the registration and check-in process.
  • Manage the Children’s Ministries budget with integrity and efficiency.
  • Develop a strategy to reach new kids in our surrounding schools and community.
  • Invest in families outside of Sunday interaction.
  • Consistently communicate current events and future plans with parents, kids, and church body.
  • Provide tools to help parents with the spiritual training of their children.

Other Duties:

  • Understand and utilize A/V technology, social media, and communication skills in order to reach children and families in various platforms.
  • Be a positive voice for the staff and leadership of the ministry.
