Director of Mission Advancement

Emmaus Worldwide is seeking a Director of Mission Advancement to secure the financial resources needed to advance the mission of Emmaus Worldwide by cultivating and nurturing relationships that result in regular gifts, major gifts, and planned giving.

The Director will work with the Executive Director to develop and implement a development program that will meet the current and future needs of Emmaus Worldwide and support its strategic priorities. The Director will be responsible to develop a major gift partners invitation program that will systematically increase annual giving and ultimately broaden the base of support needed for future campaigns. The implementation of this program includes the administration and delegation of maintaining accurate donor records, gift tracking and reporting, and grants compliance. The Director will lead the team’s utilization of donor relation software for analysis, planning, cultivation, and communications. The Director of Mission Advancement will also generate reports, forecasts, and action plans for presentation at board meetings.

Building and nurturing relationships with potential giving partners and major gift partners is essential for the success of this position. Accepting speaking engagements, meeting with constituents, and traveling, as necessary, are part of creating and maintaining these relationships.

The Director of Mission Advancement must be a spiritually mature, born-again Christian who is in full agreement with Emmaus Worldwide’s Statement of Faith, Mission, Vision, and Core Values. This person should have experience in the handling of major gifts, capital and annual campaigns, corporate and foundation solicitations, and planned giving. Strong organizational abilities, excellent verbal and written communication skills, high professional and ethical standards, and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, are all requirements for this position. This position is full time and reports to the Executive Director.
