Warehouse 242, a local church in Charlotte, NC is a community of imperfect people, beloved by Jesus, seeking to live in Him and in His ways. Job Description for Position: The part-time Director of Student Ministries will be responsible for shepherding and leading students (6th-12th grade) in all of its facets and aligning it with the overall vision of Warehouse 242. 

Responsibilities:

  • Create and cast vision for Warehouse students.
  • Implement a strategy of spiritual formation for students.
  • Recruit, train, develop, empower and release volunteer leaders.
  • Plan and execute activities which help students grow in their relationship with Christ. 
  • Partner with parents and guardians for wholistic development and spiritual growth.
  • Work in close collaboration with Family Ministries Team (Director, Kids Warehouse Coordinator and Student Ministries Coordinator) for collaborative initiatives (i.e. marriage and parenting workshops, spiritual formation events, missional/justice events).
  • Spend quality time with students.
  • Integrate students into the normal, natural life of the church.
  • Work alongside pastors and elders for shepherding care of community.
  • Oversee and manage Student Ministry budget.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be committed to Warehouse 242 mission, message, culture and vision.
  • A clear testimony of faith in Jesus and evidence of maturing relationship with Him.
  • A self-aware leader, willing to grow and develop leadership skills.
  • Effective with simple technology and social media platforms.
  • Must be flexible and committed to team collaboration.
  • College degree required; Seminary education desired.
  • Have experiences pertinent to position.
  • Must be willing to think “outside the box” as ministry at Warehouse requires creativity in form and function.
