Peace Lutheran Church (LCMC denomination) of Gulf Shores, Alabama, is currently in search of a full-time senior pastor. Baldwin County, Alabama, is the second fastest growing county in Alabama and sixteenth fastest growing county in the United States. The church is located on a high visibility thoroughfare and is less than 10 miles from the beautiful white sand beaches of the Gulf of Mexico.
We are seeking a Christ-filled, Spirit-led representative of the Lutheran faith for our congregation who would be instrumental in shepherding this body of believers in ways to have Peace Lutheran obtain its full ministerial potential in this growing and diverse community. This individual must be focused on both increasing the depth of the faith of our current members as well as reaching out to the unchurched in our community. Community outreach and growth is a high priority for our church.
In this role you will be responsible for fulfilling all the duties of a full-time pastor which includes, but is not limited to:
- Draft and deliver weekly sermons.
- Prepare and lead weekly, as well as special, worship services.
- Prepare and lead weekly Bible studies.
- Plan community activities and assist in outreach efforts.
- Encourage and build small-group ministry.
- Make hospital and shut-in visits.
To be considered this person will have completed the education and training to be a pastor and is certified for ordination or ordained to the public ministry to serve as a pastor. We are also open to considering new pastors and seminary graduates. This person must subscribe to the Confession of Faith and the Statement of Purpose of Peace Lutheran Church of Baldwin County, Inc.
