About the Organization
The Forum of Christian Leaders (FOCL) is a US-based nonprofit organization that exists to unite, equip, and resource Evangelical leaders.
A primary strategy of FOCL is to administer the European Leadership Forum (ELF). ELF is a European movement that consists of hundreds of leaders and organizations working together for the Gospel. Through the Forum’s Networks, Year-Round Mentoring groups, and National movements, Evangelical leaders volunteer to teach, train, and mentor other Christian leaders outside of their organization or church.
Primary Responsibilities
FOCL’s Grant Writer works with staff and volunteers, collectively and independently to: Seek grant opportunities, prepare written proposals, follow proposals through award of funds, and provide reports to grant providers. This role will also assist in the development of engaging and thoughtful content for other key constituent groups as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Contact existing and new foundations as well as trusts, major donors, and other charitable organizations to obtain permission and guidelines for submitting proposals.
- Write proposals in accordance with the various and unique requirements found in the proposal instructions.
- Submit the proposals with attachments to requestors, answer questions concerning the proposal, and supply any additional required information.
- Maintain grant files and all attachments current to ensure grant compliance.
- Assist in the creation and editing of other department materials.
- Manage the collection and development of compelling stories about ELF leaders and relate those stories to support from our partners.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- This is an entry-level position. No prior grant writing experience is needed.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (preferably in English or Writing).
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong written communication skills.
- Strong editing skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
Job Requirements
- Agree with FOCL’s Statement of Faith.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products as well as G-Suite.
- Ability to lift 30-50 pounds.
Compensation and Benefits:
The Grant Writer position is an entry-level full-time, salaried position. Starting compensation will be based on skill level and experience. FOCL offers health (medical, dental, and vision) and life insurance benefits to all full-time employees.
All FOCL employees travel to Europe (at FOCL’s expense) each May to administer the European Leadership Forum’s annual meeting. Following the event, all full-time employees are given a week of paid vacation during which they are encouraged to tour Europe (though at their own expense). In addition, all full-time employees start out with two additional weeks of paid vacation, along with nine paid holidays.

This is a remote position with strong preference given to residents of the following states: AZ, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, MI, OK, TN, CO, TX, VA, and WA.
