Hours: Approximately 5 hours per week
Pay: $20-25 per hour

Summary of Church and Position:

Living Word Church of Worcester is Spirit-filled and Gospel-centered church in Worcester, Massachusetts. Worcester is the second largest city in New England and is home to diverse backgrounds in age, education, race/ethnicity, interests, and faith belief/maturity. Our church and affiliated ministry expressions embody a mosaic of Worcester with the aim to help people look and act more like Jesus. Our key motto is “Come, Here, Do.”

The Graphic Designer will report to Pastor Dan Condon and assist him with Living Word Church of Worcester and Dinner Gathering. Other hours will be assigned to Tyler Brondyk with Hope for Worcester and Faith and Fitness.

Primary Responsibilities Overview:

• Timely and quality production of artwork, print and design techniques, and content materials
• Prepare materials that meet a variety of sizing, printing, and layout specifications
• Create logos, marketing materials, and collateral for apparel and signage
• Develop slide show design for sermons and presentations
• Work with our websites hosted by wix.com to help upload and edit graphic materials
• Collaborate internally with team to accurately and creatively display the mission and ethos of the church
and ministries
• Stay up to date with skills and techniques needed as a graphic designer
• Develop new style guide for new initiative expressions of ministries
• Work with social media, photography, and video team to ensure consistency in unified messaging
• Help post and automate posting of graphic design and content materials to social media with strategy
collaboration from Social Media Lead, Gerson Urbina.
• Raise up other interns and volunteers to assist and develop materials
• Lead and assist in other special projects as assigned

Position Requirements:

• Call to serve the local church
• Bachelor’s degree or working proficiency in graphic design
• 1+ year experience in graphic design
• Self-motivated and problem solver reaching audiences clearly and effectively
• Professional knowledge of Adobe CS, Canva, and Microsoft programs
• Understanding of web design, with wix.com in particular
• Strong ability to work with multiple tasks and deadlines at the same time
• Able to take critical feedback
• High attention to detail
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal
• Clean criminal and background record
