Chepachet Union Church has an immediate opening for Interim Pastor. We are seeking qualified and enthusiastic candidates for this position. Theological students and recent graduates are encouraged to apply.

Interim services will be provided until such time as a full time Pastor is called.

Minimum Hours Required

• Sunday Services: 2 hours with 8 hours of planning provided.
• Posted office hours 3-4 hours once a week.
• One day of common planning with church secretary and choir director (1-2 hours).
• Deacon and Council Meetings (2-3 hours per month).

Responsibility of Interim Pastor

• Preaching the Gospel and leading the worship life of the church.
  • This includes but is not limited to preaching and leading worship at all worship services, and at any regular special service of the church such as those during the Christmas or Easter seasons, Thanksgiving, etc.
• Officiating as the official representative of Chepachet Union Church on its behalf at church functions, baptisms, weddings and funerals as requested.
• It is expected that the Interim Pastor will attend all Board of Deacon’s and Church Council meetings and, through his work with these two groups, provide input to other boards and committees of the church.
• With the assistance of the Board of Deacons, visit the sick, shut-ins, and families of the congregation in our Lord’s name.
• With assistance of the Church Council Executive Officers, coordinate the day to day activities of the paid staff of the Church.
• With the assistance of the Deacons, explore opportunities for corporate prayer, ministries of discipleship, and leadership training.

Minimum pay $30,000 with travel and medical expenses negotiable.

Paid vacation will accrue at 2 weeks per 6 months of service.
