Church Overview:

Formosan Christian Church of Dallas (FCCD) is an independent non-denominational church based in Plano, TX. FCCD ministers to both Taiwanese and English-speaking congregations, with a combined average attendance of about 250. The English congregation has about 65 adults and youth.

Church Purpose: 

We seek to build a unified community of Christ followers through our gifts/strengths of hospitality, service, and stewardship. Grounded in multi-lingual Asian cultural heritage, we aspire to extend the love and hope of Jesus to our neighbors and future generations, around Dallas-Fort Worth and East Asia.

Required Qualifications:

  • M.Div. degree or equivalent from a seminary of the evangelical tradition.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in lay/pastoral capacities within a church or Christian ministry.
  • Understanding of the nuances of multi-lingual & multi-cultural church dynamics.
  • Demonstrated gifts in leadership, with the ability to build and motivate a mature leadership team.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Clear calling to full-time pastoral ministry.

Other Requirements:

  • Experience in team leadership and working collaboratively with church leadership.
  • Ability to provide leadership and training to lay leaders.
  • Experience in pulpit ministry with accurate Bible exposition and life applications.
  • Experience in multicultural ministry with members of diverse backgrounds.
  • Accept and abide by the church\’s Statement of Faith, Bylaws, and policies.
  • Additional proficiency in a second language will be beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities:

General:

  • Oversee all aspects of the English ministry, including preaching, teaching, and discipleship training.
  • Preach Sunday sermons, teach Bible classes, conduct Bible studies, and provide spiritual leadership through workshops or seminars on doctrine and discipleship.
  • Recruit, train, and equip lay leaders to serve the church congregation.
  • Provide vision and leadership by developing plans, setting goals, and implementing programs to achieve desired outcomes for the English ministry.
  • Develop strategies to strengthen fellowship groups and nurture members’ spiritual health and maturity.

Care & Nurturing:

  • Provide pastoral leadership through regular care visits and crisis counseling; mentor believers for spiritual growth including but not limited to forming and training care teams.

Evangelism & Mission:

  • Promote evangelism and outreach efforts; encourage member participation.
  • Build and support a culture of mission-minded believers.

 Administration & Others

  • Attend and provide monthly ministry progress reports to church leadership, including updates on any new initiatives requiring leadership support or agreement.
  • Participate in pastoral staff meetings; attend church leadership meetings; perform other related ministerial duties as needed.
  • This role reports to the church Senior Pastor.
