Shelter Rock Church (est. 1943) is excited to find its next Campus Pastor (non-video model), a proven leader who is able to teach, preach, shepherd, disciple, develop, empower and reach people for Christ. Our campus pastors are gifted preachers and strong, godly leaders, entrusted with safe guarding our mission, vision, and values and empowered to contextualize ministry to lead their teams and church body to reach their specific community.
Our Campus Pastors oversee all aspects related to their home campus. This includes being the primary preacher at their campus (2-3x/month). The campus pastor will also be responsible for overseeing, leading, and developing local ministry staff and volunteers, working with central office to oversee all local systems and processes, owning the assimilation, discipleship and care of their local campus, and ensuring our campus maintains a missional posture and presence in the local community.
Qualifications:
The Lead Campus Pastor should exhibit a clear love for Christ and His church, be gifted in preaching, teaching, leading, and be passionate about leading people into a transforming relationship with Jesus. In addition:
- Must possess godly character as outlined in 1 Tim. 3 and Titus 1.
- Must be spiritually mature and have a personal and growing relationship with Jesus.
- Teachable with a servants heart, a passion for God and people.
- Self-motivated, diligent, hard-working, responsible, and trustworthy.
- A proven leader who inspires people to follow.
- Must have experience leading teams and developing leaders.
- Should be well-organized with proven administrative skills.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Should be highly relational with high EQ and cross-cultural competency.
*Due to the unique nature of life and ministry on Long Island, ideal candidates will have lived in Metro-NYC (preferred) and/or the Northeast.
