The Big Picture

The Rising Community Fellowship and Outreach Center (The Rising) (therisingproject.net) is seeking a full time senior pastor that truly understands the depths and dimensions of the Gospel of Grace and has a passion to mold properly defined followers of Jesus Christ into a true biblical community.

The Church

The Rising Community Fellowship is a small community of believers (approximately 40 people) that has roots that go back to 1904 in southern New Jersey. After the passing of their long-time pastor in 2021, the church has been seeking a new leader to continue to build on his solid foundation of proclaiming the Gospel of the Grace of God (Acts 20:24).

The Community

The Rising is located in Moorestown, NJ, which is 15 minutes east of Philadelphia. The town has a population of approximately 20,000. Moorestown consistently ranks in the top 1% of best places to live in the country and was named the #1 place to live in the US in 2005.

Pastoral Responsibilities

The Senior Pastor is responsible for the overall spiritual heath, development and care of the congregation at The Rising Community Fellowship and Outreach Center.

Primary responsibilities:

• Provide spiritual leadership in role of pastor/elder as defined in The Rising Constitution (available prior to interview).
• Provide spiritual leadership in support of The Rising Statement of Faith and Mission/Vision statement. http://therisingproject.net/statement-of-faith-2/
• Provide spiritual education to the congregation via Sunday sermon, regular mid week bible study and/or other modes of instruction.
• Provide counsel to those in need, e.g., spiritual, marital, bereavement, relational, emotional.
• Provide leadership and oversight in all church ministry endeavors.
• Provide civic leadership as primary spokesman for Our Lord Jesus and The Rising.
• Officiate at special occasions in the lives of the congregation, e.g., wedding, baptism, baby dedication and funeral.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Firm grasp of the depths and dimensions of the Gospel of the Grace of God (Acts 20:24).
• Firm grasp on the role of the Law of Moses and the Commandments in the plan of God for the redemption of mankind.
• Proper biblical exegesis based on context, syntax and grammar structure.
• Outstanding communicator: both oral and written.
• Effective leadership: outstanding team orientation, able to work collaboratively with ministry teams to execute mission of the church.
• Strong cross cultural and multi-generational orientation with the ability to pastor culturally diverse church members.
• Knowledge of theory and related procedures in the field of spiritual care and pastoral counseling.
• Prior experience: At least 5 years in senior pastor role preferred.
• Education: Bible degree/seminary preferred.
• Excellent organizational, managerial and problem solving skills.
• Proficient computer skills with Windows and Microsoft products.
• Ability to provide three character references.

The Rising CFOC Statement of Faith

A New Identity In Christ – You are a new creation in Christ Jesus. You are a child of God, an identity that never changes, that is secure and unshakable.

Faith, Hope and Love – The Christian life is anchored in hope, lived by faith and is expressed through love.
