The Davis Chinese Christian Church is seeking a pastor with emphasis on the Mandarin congregation at a growing, trilingual church in Davis, California, a quaint, small town of about 60,000 residents. Home to one of California’s largest universities – UC Davis – in Northern California, DCCC is in a prime location, adjacent to the university campus. There are about 300 people in this trilingual and bicultural church, the Mandarin congregation is approximately 150. The Mandarin Pastor will work with the English and Cantonese Pastors, the Director of Children’s Ministry, the church office, the church leadership (elders, deacons, fellowship leaders) to worship God, serve others, and reach the Lost.

Basic Requirement: Deliver sermons in Mandarin, able to communicate in English, have an understanding of an agreement with DCCC’s Statement of Faith.

Qualifications and Job description:

1. Minister to the Mandarin congregation with love.

   • Have a clear vision and work together with co-workers to prepare and implement various ministries to realize the vision.

2. Preach biblically, regularly, and passionately.

   • Teach in Sunday school and fellowship Bible Study to inspire, challenge, and lead people to Christ.

3. Through prayer, teaching, discipleship, evangelism, and other ministries, strengthen the congregation’s faith in Christ, invigorate the congregation’s spiritual life and sense of mission.

4. Disciple and train existing leaders.

   • Develop the next generation of church leaders and promote sustainability in leadership teams.

   • Care for congregation through counseling and visitations,

5. Provide pastor-related services such as baptisms, officiating weddings and funerals, etc.

Education/qualification/Experience

1. Seminary Graduate, (M. Div. preferred, or equivalent).

2. Has a clear calling from God, with a pastoral heart, leadership gifts and teamwork spirit.

3. 5+ years of pastoral or church planting experience.

4. Pastoral experience in Asian/Asian American intercultural churches is a plus.

Salary and benefit: Salary is according to the qualification and experience.
