Come join the FBC Team and be part of an exciting church revitalization!  First Baptist Church has just re-launched their ministry in a brand new, state of the art facility located in the heart of Wakefield.  We\’re looking for a missional minded Music Director eager to help shape an emerging ministry.

The Music Director leads our Sunday music ministry and helps develop a culture of dynamic worship in the church.  The director has a love for both traditional and contemporary worship music.

Time Required:

• 7 hours per week.
• Sunday – 2.5 hours (practice and service).
• Music Selection and Practice – 2.5 hours.
• “Proclaim” presentation software (service outline), scheduling, recruiting – 1.5 hour.
• Other – .5 hour.

4 additional hours per month – Monthly Rehearsal (new songs, review old songs)

Overall responsibilities:

• Prepare and Lead the musical component of the Sunday Worship service.
• Lead the Music and A/V teams.

Specific responsibilities:

• Select and prepare hymns and songs for each Sunday Worship Service.
  • Coordinating with the Senior Pastor and his sermon series.
  • Selecting both traditional and contemporary music.
• Lead a monthly rehearsal (time TBD) for the music and A/V teams and a Sunday morning rehearsal prior to Worship.
• Prepare the “Proclaim” software ‘lineup’ each week.
• Recruit and schedule musicians, singers and A/V volunteers.

Compensation:

Hourly Rate – $25 per hour

Reporting:

Reports to the Senior Pastor and Church Council.
