Music Ministry Worship Leader

Job Description

First Church is seeking to fill a part-time position responsible for leading and growing our Music Ministry.

Qualification: This individual must seek to grow and mature in their faith so that they can model and mentor what that is to those around them.

General Qualifications

• Must be a born-again Christian, meeting the 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, and 1 Peter 5 qualifications for church leaders.
• Commitment to First Congregational Church’s vision, values, and beliefs.
• Commitment to a team approach to ministry.
• Relational style of leadership and ministry.
• Joyful spirit and good sense of humor.
• Able to work without direct supervision.
• Proficiency to lead worship both vocally and with a guitar and/or keyboard.
• General availability to Pastoral Staff, Music director and worship music volunteers.
• Experience in leading worship in a blended setting preferred.
• GED or High School Diploma required, continued education preferred.
• Familiar with Media Shout Worship Presentation Software (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, vision, and passion in the area of music worship ministries that is in line with the overall vision and mission of First Church.
• Take the lead in creating and implementing new worship opportunities which align with the mission and vision at First Church.
• Coordinate with the Pastoral Staff and Music Director to create well-planned and engaging Sunday worship services. This includes leading the Sunday Worship Music and overseeing the worship team (vocalists and instrumentalists).
• Responsibilities include preparation for and leading rehearsals, as well as consulting with the Pastoral Staff and Music Director to coordinate the music for the Sunday service.
• Oversee the Media Team in production and driving of the worship media presentation.
• In conjunction with the Music Director develop and administer an annual budget for the worship ministry in accordance with the financial policies of the church.
• If available, attend monthly staff meetings and participate in the planning and implementation of church programs that will fulfill the mission and vision of the church. If not available, coordinate a time for a meeting with the Pastoral Staff/Music Director.
• Assist in planning, implementing and leading worship for special events outside of Sunday worship services. This is based on availability.

Other Responsibilities

• Work with the Pastoral Staff and Music Director keeping them informed of any pertinent situations that arise regarding the worship/music ministry.
• General pastoral responsibilities shared by the team and other duties as required.
• It is anticipated that the duties associated with this position will take a minimum of 12 hours per week. They are to include but not restricted to worship, rehearsals and oversight of the Media Team.
