The Office Administrator oversees day-to-day operations focusing on communications, administrative support and facility management. The Office Administrator is part of the Ministry Planning Team (MPT). This is an office-based position.

Job Responsibilities

Communications

  • Manage church-wide communications including e-blasts, social media and the website.
  • Oversee communication process for each approved ministry event to include:
    • Scheduling promotions via the bulletin, power point, website, Sunday morning announcements, and social media (see communication flow chart).
  • Work with the ministry lead and MPT to complete all phases of promotion (blurb, registration, image, submit Sun AM announcement requests to MPT, social media posts, etc).
  • Utilize MPT meetings to connect on communication schedules.

Manage nechapel.org website

  • Add/edit events, registration to calendar and appropriate pages on a regular basis.
  • Works with Ministry Lead to add specialty sections/pages as requested.
  • Update homepage images and other pages as needed or requested.

Administrative Support

  • Maintain church database.
  • Create registration forms for approved ministry events.
  • Serve as the first point of contact via phone, walk-in, intake, etc.

Facility Management

  • Respond and coordinate to outside NEC event requests.
  • Support for funerals & event logistics.

Creative Content

  • Help with slides, images and other print and digital content for approved ministry events.
  • Assist with church-wide promotional events.

Team participation

  • Serve as an active team member of church staff to assist with church-wide events and initiatives with a commitment to the principles of collaboration, trust, healthy conflict and willingness to support one another.
  • Attend annual staff retreats and other staff events.
  • Identify opportunities for spiritual development through conferences, mentors.

Education & Experience

  • 3-5 years of administrative experience.
  • Experience working with various software, social media and other creative platforms.
  • Feel a passion for and alignment with New England Chapel mission, vision, and values.
  • Agree to enthusiastically support the leadership of NEC, which includes both staff and volunteers.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and loyalty in all matters.
  • Possess a vibrant, growing relationship with Jesus Christ demonstrated through a love of God and others.
  • Participate in NEC’s Sunday morning services as a regular attendee.
  • Live out the promises of NEC as a church member.
  • Work under the practice of duplication. Seek opportunities to create new volunteer leadership opportunities.
  • Follow Matthew 18 as the model for conflict resolution between staff.
