God’s Family Fellowship was started 16 years ago with a group of people from different denominations gathering as a basement/home non-denominational church. Today our church has grown into a congregation of 50-75 people. Besides weekly worship services and small group gatherings and bible studies, our church family is actively involved in community outreach. We strive to be a gospel-centered church that ministers and models Christ’s transforming power within and to our community. We have experienced much since our church was started and our enduring vision remains to connect the unconnected to Christ and together grow in full devotion to him and to glorify God in everything we do.

The Community

Wellsboro, PA is located in north central Pennsylvania, just 15 minutes from the New York/Pennsylvania line in the middle of the state. Wellsboro’s population is just over 3,900. We enjoy small-town living with the conveniences that larger cities offer within a short drive. There are both public and Christian schools. Wellsboro has a local UPMC Hospital/ER and other health clinics, a volunteer Fire Department and EMTs. Our community has many dining places including a historic diner, a historic theater, several gyms, community swimming pool, basketball, tennis, baseball fields, and two town parks. We are a short drive to small lakes and state recreational parks, including PA Grand Canyon, Hills Creek State Park, Ives Run Park and several others. Wellsboro is an desirable community to call home, sometimes referred to as a beautiful friendly walking town.

The Candidate

This man will demonstrate a strong walk with Christ, a clear calling to pastoral ministry, and be an experienced leader who understands small-town church ministry. We desire him to bring strengths in preaching, worship service planning, and pastoral care. This position requires a self-starter with a strong work ethic, we would like our new pastor to maintain a healthy balance of ministry and family life. Our pastor will need administrative capacities that develop the church’s current and future staff, volunteers, and ministry systems. He will need to work well with the elders and other church leaders to effectively provide spiritual care and guidance to our congregation. It is essential that our pastor leads us with teaching and outreach opportunities that connect our church with our community, mission efforts, and local ministerium group.
