Pastor – Greenville, NH Community Christian Church

The Greenville, NH Community Christian Church is a small church located in the southeastern corner of the Monadnock region of New Hampshire.  We are an independent church and do not have a denominational affiliation.  The church has its roots in the Baptist (1828) and Congregational (1847) churches of Mason Village (now Greenville).  Those churches were federated in 1919 and in 1999 they merged to form the Greenville, NH Community Christian Church.

About half of our members live in Greenville.  The rest reside in adjoining towns.  Attendance at Sunday worship averages between 30 and 40 people.  We have a choir, Sunday School classes during the school year and weekly Bible study.  Sunday services are on Facebook.

We worship in the former Baptist meetinghouse.  We have a parish house next door for other church activities.  Both building are handicapped accessible.  Our parsonage is located up the street from the meetinghouse.  It is well maintained and has four bedrooms and an attached barn/garage.  We have recently completed the recommendations of an energy audit for all three buildings.

Greenville is a former mill town located on the Souhegan River.  Originally a part of Mason, it was incorporated as a separate town in 1872.  Due to the water power of the river, it was for many years a center of commercial activity with denim mills, furniture factories, railroad, bank and other business enterprises.   The mill have since closed.   Although there are businesses in town, the town has transitioned into a bedroom community.

We pay our pastor a cash salary of $38,000, provide a four bedroom parsonage, pay for all utilities (town water & sewer, electricity, fuel oil, and phone). $1,000 for continuing education,  $400 for conferences.  We allow three weeks of paid vacation per year.  Our pastor is able to have other employment provided it does not interfere with the activities of the church.
