Kershaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church is seeking The Lord’s chosen shepherd to serve as full time pastor for our congregation.

We are a conservative, reformed, praying, close knit congregation that cares for each other and others. We are a benevolent congregation with a heart for mission. We know and love God’s word, serving with gifts of teaching, prayer, and service. We are small in number, but overflowing with faith and generosity. We have strong leadership that seeks the mind of Christ for the Church.

The Pastor shall be:

  1. A shepherd who is ordained or ordainable by a Presbytery of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
  2. A shepherd who is called by God in the Lord Jesus Christ to minister at Kershaw EPC.
  3. A shepherd who is able to preach Spirit-led, Spirit-filled, scripture-based messages and series each Sunday morning and to lead biblical-based studies as requested by the Session.
  4. A shepherd who is a Spirit-filled person of God, well-versed in teaching, preaching, and communicating the Word of God to the congregation and thoughtful in encouraging the use of the gifts of the Holy Spirit among the congregation.
  5. A shepherd who is able to bring people to repentance and faith in Christ Jesus.
  6. A shepherd who seeks to attract people of all ages and backgrounds to our church where the emphasis on the gospel of Jesus Christ is our first priority.
  7. A shepherd who is available and willing to perform weddings and funerals as appropriate.
  8. A shepherd who provides emotional support and short-term counseling to those members in times of routine life, difficult situations, sicknesses, joy, and transitions in life.
  9. A shepherd who has strong communication and active listening skills and has the gift to engage people of all ages.
  10. A shepherd who is involved in activities of the community.
  11. A shepherd who visits on a regular basis all members with a special emphasis on the sick and shut-in.
  12. A shepherd who leads his personal life and family with order, stability, and gentility

The position requires great flexibility in time schedule. The pastor should be available for evening activities as well as work on the weekends; therefore, we prefer that the pastor live in the local community. The pastor is expected to take one or two days off each week depending on the needs of the congregation and the protection of his family relationships.

The Pastor should continue or develop a solid prayer life and an active life of study of the Word, in order to access God’s power to do the job called for by God and Kershaw EPC.

Compensation, depending on experience, $55,000-$64,000 year plus benefits.
