The Big Picture

Faith Fellowship Church (faithfellowshipirons.com) is a faithful congregation seeking a full-time Pastor who will preach the Word of God, shepherd the congregation, and provide godly leadership.

The Church

Faith Fellowship Church is a friendly, welcoming, and caring congregation. We are a small church with hearts that are thirsty for God’s word and a desire to serve Him by reaching others, sharing the gospel, and equipping them through the following opportunities and activities.

Faith Fellowship Church was founded April 25,1999 by a group of Christians of like faith. The group believed that God desired a church to serve the Bass Lake Area. The Church was built in 2000. It is one of the larger churches in the area. The sanctuary seats about 250 people. The first floor includes two offices, a nursery, a small kitchen, and restrooms. The Family Center is a separate building located across the paved parking lot. It has a large kitchen and a large gathering space with tables and chairs for numerous functions. Faith Fellowship Church has some members and attendees from outlying areas, such as Norman Township, with younger demographics. It is worth mentioning that some permanent residents are “snowbirds” who depart this area to spend the winter in warmer climates.

The church leadership is headed by the Deacon Board and the Pastor. The Board consists of 6 deacons, who are elected to the office by the church members. They serve 3-year terms and must step away from the board for a minimum of one year between terms. Deacons are responsible for decisions on moral and doctrinal matters, benevolence, budget, pulpit supply, and nominations for offices to be filled. The board has established a committee to review and amend the church constitution. They will be looking at the office of Deacon and consider dividing it into Deacons and Elders. The pastor is the only full-time paid position of the church.

The Community

Faith Fellowship Church is in Irons, in the northwest quadrant of Lake County, Michigan. The Irons Area enjoys the atmosphere of a tight-knit rural community with residents who get involved and watch out for one another. It is convenient, with several larger towns, tourist destinations, and attractions within an easy 30 to 60-minute drive. We are approximately in the middle of the Manistee National Forest. The area abounds in four-season natural beauty. A 35-minute drive to the Lake Michigan shoreline, the Irons Area is blessed with numerous lakes, rivers, and streams with boating, swimming, hiking, and all other outdoor activities readily available. Lake County is renowned for its well-developed trails for snowmobiling and recreational vehicles. Those features result in tourism as the primary industry for this area. Often referred to as a “Sportsman’s Paradise” the entire area avidly supports all-season sports, hunting, and fishing. There is a mix of permanent residences and vacation homes. There is everything from luxury waterfront homes to small, older rustic cabins. A considerable range of property values is a factor.

The Qualifications

We require a man that meets the qualifications in I Timothy and Titus. He must be a humble shepherd and yet bold to minister the Word of God without compromise.

He shall be a minister who oversees the day-to-day operations of the church and shepherds the flock. His primary duty is to preach God s Word with relevance and practical application to today’s world such that he equips the church family to be God’s ministers in the world.

The Compensation

Total Package $60,000 with health insurance to be negotiated.
