SEEKING SENIOR PASTOR — Immanuel Church (http://www.immanuelchurch.com/), a member of the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference (CCCC – https://www.ccccusa.com/), is actively searching for the Senior Pastor whom God has chosen to help lead our congregation with vision to help us fulfill our calling and meet the related goals.
Founded 125 years ago, Immanuel is located in a community 25 miles north of Boston, a community that has recently been rated one of the best towns to live in the United States. Our congregation draws people from throughout the Merrimack Valley and is made up of a diverse group of 150 persons seeking to exalt Jesus Christ to the glory of God by embodying the five great ends of the church: Worship, Instruction, Fellowship, Evangelism, and Service.
Situated on 15.9 acres next to Russell Mill Pond, our 32,000 sq. ft. facility is highly versatile and provides capabilities for many successful ministries. Our facilities include a gymnasium, commercial kitchen, cafe and gathering room, 10 classrooms, multiple conference rooms, 2 multi-use rooms, pre-K nursery room, toddler room, outdoor playground, parking for 230 cars, a newly renovated sanctuary, and newly established children’s wing. Having been obedient to God’s direction in planting a new church five years ago, we believe God is now directing us to build bridges into our own community.
Being elder-led, staff-equipped, and ministry team-driven, we seek a man who is looking for an opportunity to lead our church into the next great season of its mission. Ideally, we are looking for a pastor who excels in communicating the truth of God’s word, possesses demonstrated abilities in leadership and organizational management, and has experience helping the church establish a meaningful presence in the local community. Additionally, he should work well in a collaborative environment to help us to stretch and grow to the glory of Jesus Christ.
- Master of Divinity degree (or equivalent) from a seminary with shared theological beliefs;
- Minimum of four (4) years experience as a solo Pastor or Senior Pastor;
- Committed to a Plurality of Elders model of church leadership;
- Holds to a Reformed doctrinal position while respecting those who hold to other positions consistent with our articles of faith and those of the CCCC.
It is imperative that he meets the biblical qualifications for an elder, holds God’s word as authoritative and inerrant, and will seek to prayerfully guide us to accomplish God’s vision to build His church. Relying on the Lord, he should be able to effectively make, build, and equip disciples through the ministry of the word of God as it is preached, taught, and applied to the care of souls.
