Job Summary:

The Worship Arts Associate will be a leader in FCCB’s overall Worship Arts Team. Working closely with and under the supervision of the Minister of Music, the Worship Arts Associate will be responsible for singing vocals and playing lead guitar in weekly rehearsals and Sunday services. They will also work closely with the A/V team as well as the Pastors and other staff members.

Responsibilities:

  • Able to sing lead vocals and play lead guitar for the weekly worship service.
  • Able to periodically lead rehearsal and worship, especially in the absence of the Minister of Music.
  • Help instrumentalists with various aspects of playing with the team, both musical or technical.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of worship services and all creative elements related to those services.
  • Assist Minister of Music with inviting and managing a rotating schedule of worship team members via Planning Center.
  • Willingness to sing in the church choir when needed.

  • The ability to work collaboratively with the Minister of Music, Pastors, and other staff to help create and lead well-planned and engaging Sunday morning worship services.
  • Proficiency in leading worship with a strong vocal ability is necessary.
  • Capable of playing lead guitar is necessary.
  • The ability to attend monthly worship team meetings with FCCB staff and participate in the planning and implementation of church programs that will fulfill the mission and vision of the church.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills with ability across wide variety of age groups.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve quickly.
  • A desire to assist in planning, implementing and leading worship for special events outside of Sunday worship services.
  • Able to help lead worship on major Christian holidays, i.e. Christmas Eve, Easter, etc.
  • Willingness to consider membership at First Church.
  • Must be in full agreement of our Statement of Faith.
  • The ability to devote 10 hours/week of dedicated time to FCCB’s music ministry.
  • A willingness to obtain and maintain a solid understanding of general audio and visual technologies employed at First Church, specifically digital soundboards, presentation software and streaming technologies.
  • Familiarity with Planning Center, ProPresenter, and other software related to Worship.
