The Falls Church (thefalls.church) is seeking a Worship and Student Leader.

The Church

The Falls Church in Idaho Falls ID is a church in revitalization. In early 2023 a new lead pastor was called and since then the church is experiencing a new work of the LORD. Earlier in the year we were running approx. 20 attendees per service, with most of them seniors and with zero children. In recent weeks we had 2-3 times that with over 20 children each week. We are baptizing 4 people this week and have every reason to believe the LORD’s favor will continue to bless this ministry as we maintain focus on Him, love one another well, and preach the Word. We are a highly relational church, that believes that the people of the church do life together outside of Sunday Services. We own our land and building free and clear and are currently planning for a new worship center and student center. We hold strong Biblical Convictions and are confident God has placed us here to reach our culture, not conform to it. We hold firmly to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

The Candidate

We are prayerfully and patiently beginning our search for somebody who will fit our culture. We value relationships, innovation, and teamwork. The right candidate will be mentored and discipled by the existing staff, who have a vision to raise up leaders from within to plant multiple churches in future years within our city. We desire to find somebody who desires to learn, grow, and develop, including as a leader and theologian.

Idaho Falls ID is a wonderful city but is a very unchurched area with approx. 5% identifying as Christian, 65% of the residents having LDS affiliation and another 30% other or none. Candidate must be missionally minded with a heart for the misguided and lost.

The candidate must be able to lead worship on their own (guitar &/or keyboard) and build teams. They must be comfortable with song selection from Hymns to Contemporary, as we try to blend for the different ages and preferences in our fellowship. We are careful about song selection, as to not promote music from individuals or churches who hold unorthodox views or practices.

The candidate must also have a heart for students, be able to connect with them on their terms, take an active interest in their world, preach to them, disciple them, and pursue volunteer and parental involvement. We have a core group of students who are eager to step up and become leaders, they desire to have somebody with whom they can connect.

The candidate must understand that they are coming into a church revitalization, in which the Lord is doing something new. They will have an opportunity to help shape the present and future ministry in profound ways. This is a role for somebody who desires to be given clear parameters from within to operate, but freedom to innovate without fear of being micromanaged.
