The Worship Team Leader’s primary task is to equip the Grove music team to lead congregational worship on Sunday mornings, with the primary purpose being to glorify God through song. The ideal candidate will have a heart for worship and worship communities, have strong musical skills (vocal and keyboard), be an effective and consistent communicator, have familiarity with current praise and worship songs, and have a desire to build community among team members. A working knowledge of ProPresenter and Planning Center is a plus.
Reporting:
The Worship Team Leader (WTL) will report directly to the lead pastor. The Personnel Committee will participate in discussions and reviews when helpful or needed.
Specific Responsibilities:
- The WTL is expected to plan worship music each week, communicate the worship plan and song links to the team, prepare/load charts for the team, and learn songs before rehearsal.
- The WTL will lead a weekly rehearsal to prepare for the upcoming Sunday.
- The WTL, along with the team, will lead worship on Sunday mornings.
- This requires arriving early on Sunday to make sure the platform, sanctuary, and slides are ready.
- The WTL will lead a music run-through with slides before worship begins.
- Eventually, the WTL will be responsible for managing charts in Planning Center and loading slides each week in ProPresenter.
- In addition to weekly worship, there are special services during Holy Week (Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Sunday) and December (Christmas Cantata, Christmas Eve), which will require extra planning.
- The WTL’s services may be needed for weddings and funerals.
- The WTL will commit to attending a (virtual) weekly worship meeting (day and time TBD).
Compensation: $11,000 – $13,000 per year
Miscellaneous:
- 4 weeks of Sunday/rehearsal absence/vacation each year.
- Absences/time off should be approved by the lead pastor with at least 14 days’ notice.

Pay: $11,000.00 – $13,000.00 per year.

Charlotte, NC 28215: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required).
