Grace Baptist Church (GBC), a multi-culture Baptist Church, in Cheshire, CT is seeking a youth director/pastor. The candidate must be a passionate follower of Jesus Christ, who feels called to lead young people into that same type of relationship they have with Christ.

The candidate must evidence a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ through spiritual disciplines (i.e. prayer, Bible study, etc.).

In addition, this person must have a passion for youth, a teachable spirit, and a clear calling to our church.

We expect the candidate to be able to work with a team of volunteers to fulfill the mission of the ministry.

We would like, if possible, the candidate to have an understanding of immigrant life in America.

Overall Job Description:

Provide vision, leadership, and oversight for all aspects of the Middle and High School ministries so that they can come to know and follow Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.

Requirements:

The candidate must be able to share their story of coming to faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and baptism by immersion.

• Must have a Diploma or Degree from a Bible Institute, College, or Theological Seminary with theological background consistent with evangelical faith.

• Must be able to share the gospel and disciple.

• Must have some experience with youth ministry.

• Must work with students, parents, youth leaders, and Pastors

Responsibilities:

• Plan and oversee all youth activities and programs for the Middle School and High School students, including Friday evenings and a biblically-based education program on Sunday.

• Organize youth retreats, mission trips, other special events, and for all youth related outreach events.

• Establish relationships with the youth through a variety of fun activities.

• Maintain contact through regular use of social media.

• Provide opportunities for the youth to serve in ministry.

• Provide spiritual guidance and counseling to the youth.

• Attend scheduled Pastors and Deacons meetings
