Position Title: Finance Administrator
Reports to: Head of Staff (Lead Pastor)
Status: Part-Time (10 hours/week – salaried)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Effective Date: Latest January 1, 2026
Position Summary
- The Finance Administrator partners with the Lead Pastor and staff to support the mission of Threshold Church, which is “Bearing Witness to the beauty of Christ for the glory of God and the good of the world”.
- The Finance Administrator will manage the finances of Threshold Church by accurately recording contributions, processing vendor payments and payroll, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with best practices accounting principles and church policies.
Primary Responsibilities
- First priority is to strictly maintain the confidentiality of Threshold Church financial data
- Financial Recordkeeping – record and track all financial transactions, including weekly contributions, event payments, and other receipts into the church’s accounting system
- Accounts Payable & Receivable – enter and process invoices for payments to vendors; manage other accounts payable tasks
- Payroll Processing – process payroll through our online payroll system
- Bank Reconciliation – balance checking and investment accounts; perform bank statement reconciliations to ensure accuracy
- Budget Management – assist in creating and managing budgets; ensure that budget expenses align with allocated funds
- Prepare journal entries for depreciation annually
- Financial Reporting – prepare weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports for church leadership and finance team
- Contribution Tracking – record and track member giving, prepare monthly and quarterly giving statements, maintain donor-designated fund information, send annual giving statements electronically
- File sales tax refund form twice per year
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proficiency in accounting software
- Knowledge of standard accounting principles and practices
- Experience bookkeeping and accounting for nonprofit organizations
- Experience with Church Center and Planning Center applications
- Meticulous and accurate in recording financial information
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all financial records
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with pastors, church administrator, church leaders, and finance team
- Thorough understanding of financial regulations, including state and federal tax codes
