Position Summary
The Children’s Ministry Director/Pastor provides leadership and oversight for children’s ministry (birth–5th grade), partnering with parents and volunteers to help children grow in their faith
and knowledge of Jesus Christ in a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee weekly children’s programs and special events.
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers and teachers
- Select and implement biblically sound, age-appropriate curriculum
- Partner and communicate regularly with parents
- Ensure child safety policies and procedures are followed
- Manage ministry planning, scheduling, the children’s ministry budget, and basic administration
- Supervise part-time staff and nursery workers
Qualifications
- Seminary degree or equivalent theological education and 3+ years of experience in children’s ministries
- The candidate must agree and support LGCC’s statement of faith
- Strong organizational, communication, and team-building skill
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Mandarin or Cantonese is preferred
Schedule
- In addition to Sunday children’s programs, provide children’s ministry support for Friday evening and Saturday afternoon small groups
- Plan and oversee children’s programs for VBS and church retreat
- Coordinate children’s participation in special holiday presentations (e.g., Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Christmas)
- Support and help develop children’s programs for the new church plant (Millbrae)
