Welcome to the United Baptist Church a member of American Baptist Churches USA and the American Baptist Churches of Maine.  We are prayerfully seeking a senior pastor, who will provide spiritual leadership and vision for the church’s direction in Topsham, located thirty minutes north of Portland, on the beautiful coast of Maine.  You can enjoy winter skiing an hour and a half to 2 hour drive from us at Sunday River, Sugarloaf, and Saddleback Mountain as well as in the summer picturesque beaches such as Reid State Park in Georgetown and Popham Beach Park in Phippsburg, a 40 minute drive away.  We are the town located next to Brunswick, the home of Bowdoin College and the Maine State Theater.  We are a church dedicated to spiritual growth and serving our community.  On the condition that you feel called to lead our congregation and inspire our community, we invite you to apply.

The pastor we are seeking should be a believer and preacher of the Christian gospel whose conduct shall exemplify Christian values.  The candidate’s education must include college and seminary training or college with a major in Biblical studies and practical experience in pastoring a church or working in a Christian ministry.  Our new pastor should be a leader who communicates effectively.  The Sunday sermon delivered by the pastor should be both inspirational and informative.  It is important that our pastor be a teacher of the Bible, keeping the members of the congregation well informed and grounded in faith.  The Pastor shall preach at the church service and administer the ordinances.  The pastor shall be an ex officio member of all boards, committees, and organizations and will attend all Diaconate meetings.  We encourage our pastor to be involved in the community.  Our church provides a meeting place for many community groups such as AA, Drug addiction groups, home school families meetings, Girl Scout groups, and quilting groups to name a few.  We also have a Congolese congregation that also worships at our church.  Our church is the host to the Hallowell Community Band twice a year to perform their Christmas and Spring Concert too the Topsham and Brunswick communities.  Pastoral visitation is a long-standing part of our identity which includes visits to the homebound, hospitalized, and members in need.

The compensation package at United Baptist Church is very competitive with a salary range of $95,000 to $110,000 which includes a social security allowance, housing allowance, and contributions toward Ministers and Missionaries Benefit Board benefits.
