The Boston Navigators seeks qualified candidates to join our campus team to reach college students for Christ in the city.

Full-time and part-time positions are available commensurate with experience and willingness to raise financial support.

The Navigators (www.navigators.org) is an international, interdenominational missions organization with a high emphasis on spiritual multiplication through intentional, purposeful relationships. Navigator staff are dedicated to reaching and discipling generations of men and women who will in turn disciple others.

Leadership, training and team-based structure provided.

Responsibilities:

Ministry creation, leadership, evangelism, discipleship, teaching, public speaking, team-building, teamwork, fundraising, coordinating retreats & conferences, church relations.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • An ideal applicant would have a demonstrated track record of significant achievement and leadership within their academic or professional career.
  • He or she would have a strong Biblical background, a proven commitment to evangelism and discipleship, and the ability to adapt to the culture of a college campus. In terms of work style, the candidate would need to be a self-starter, with the motivation to own tasks and work independently, but also the ability to collaborate effectively with others.
  • Strong personal motivation to invest in the vision and mission of The Navigators is highly valued, so candidates must be mature and growing Christians, with an understanding of campus ministry, a passion for connecting students with the person of Christ, and a grasp of the strategic role of the university in our culture.

Staff Options:

Mentored Ministry Interns: These are individuals who can offer 5-10 hours a week per semester as part of their mentored ministry seminary experience.  The primary location for this is with the Navigators ministry at Boston University although there may be some campus ministry options on the North Shore.

Staff-in-TrainingThese are individuals who have  2+ plus years of work experience and/or graduate education.  They are looking longer term to the Navigators as a career option.

Professional profiles of top candidates might include experienced youth or campus ministers, associate pastors, educators, engineers, business or non-profit leaders or strategy consultants.

We are looking to hire one new SiT single or married couple to join us for two years of ministry training with a senior staff trainer and existing campus team at Boston University for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Staff AssociatesStaff associates are typically part-time individuals who can devote up to 20 hours per week in campus ministry. They can raise funds for salary and ministry expenses, or for ministry expenses only or they volunteer without fund-raising.

We are always looking for Staff Associates to join our team in Boston.

Funding:
Fund-raising training and coaching are provided to all new staff.  Starting salaries are commensurate with ministry experience, hours worked per week, family needs and geographic cost of living:

Salary scales are between $65,000 and $85,000 for F/T Staff-in-Training.  Salary scales for P/T staff are pro-rated.

Mentored Ministry interns can receive up to $3200 per semester.

Exploratory travel and lodging for a campus team visit will be provided. $5000 in start-up funds will be placed in the staff account of any newly accepted candidates.

In order to be eligible for health care benefits as a Navigator employee, individuals must work a minimum of 20 hours in campus ministry.

All Navigator missionary budgets are set according to a salary scale approved by ministry leaders and the Navigators board of directors. All staff are responsible to raise 100% of their approved budget which may include the following:

  • Salaries for personal living expenses.
  • Ministry Funds for communication, travel, meals for students, and retreats and conferences.
  • Benefits to include health insurance, life insurance, retirement savings, workman’s compensation insurance.
  • Administration to include essential accounting and legal services, donor receipting.
