Job Description: Music Minister:
Philosophy: Will create a music program at FPCC that firstly honor’s God, reaching all generations with an emphasis on reaching the next generation of our community.
Responsibilities
- Must be able to recruit, train and equip musicians in traditional and contemporary music. Only members of FPCC may participate in musical Worship.
- Must meet with the Pastor and/or music subcommittee each week to plan worship music selections.
- Must be able to integrate styles of music into the worship service to create unity and flow.
- Must provide rehearsals each week that will properly prepare musicians and singers for Sunday worship.
- Must provide lyrics for hymns and contemporary music to be displayed on the video screen for all services.
- Must inform the church office in a timely manner of the music for the upcoming Sunday service.
Qualifications
- Must have a BA degree in music, and preferably a master’s degree in either music or the ministry.
- Must have at least 5 years’ experience leading music at a church.
- Must have proficiency in organ and piano.
- Must have prior experience, knowledge and passion for leading both traditional and contemporary worship styles.
- Must have experience combining traditional and contemporary music into one unified and harmonious musical worship experience.
- Must possess a deep understanding and commitment to Christian worship and music.
- Must have proficiency in a variety of musical styles, experience in conducting and arranging,
- Must possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to inspire and guide others in their spiritual and musical growth.
- Must possess a strong desire for Christian service and evangelism.
Expectations:
- We expect you to passionately support the stated philosophy of worship and music at FPCC.
- We expect you to hunger after righteousness in all your work and encourage others to act the same.
- We expect you to be a servant leader to those under you and have a respectful Christian posture to those leading you.
- We expect you to lead the music members in prayer and conduct all meetings and rehearsals honoring our, “Scriptural Covenant for Working and Worshiping Together”.
- We expect you to become a member of the church and be supportive of its Statement of Faith.
- We expect you alongside the Pastor and other church leaders to participate in various outreach and evangelism events.
Supervision
- You will be responsible to and supervised by the Diaconate and Pastor.
- You will be expected to meet regularly (when requested) for the purpose of programming, review & evaluation, goal setting, and prayer.
- The Diaconate will perform an annual review.
- The Diaconate in conjunction with the Pastor will make recommendations to church counsel for yearly employment renewal.
