Associate Pastor of Discipleship
Other Details
Since 1814, First Presbyterian has sought to be faithful in service to Jesus Christ and to the common good. We are rooted in the Reformed, orthodox, and evangelical traditions of the larger church. Our stated mission is “To know Christ and to make Him known,” as we seek to exhibit His love through worship, education, and service.
We are a large, multi-generational church, with a healthy mix of long-time members and newcomers. Worship-centered and mission-oriented, we are blessed with a 60 acre campus in suburban Nashville, including an elementary school. Our worship services emphasize Spirit-led excellence in traditional liturgy and music. Under the dynamic and joyful leadership of our Pastor Ryan Moore, we are poised to do more to advance God’s kingdom on earth, through new and expanded ministries and programs.
Our new Associate Pastor for Discipleship will spearhead FPC’s efforts to fulfil our mission, fostering discipleship to deepen our members’ relationships with Christ and with others. This Associate Pastor’s love of Jesus, love of the congregation, and love of the community will be integral to the call. He or she will be a key part of our pastoral team, with significant preaching and teaching and other pastoral duties, working closely with and learning from Pastor Ryan Moore. He or she will reinforce and grow FPC’s Christian education offerings, Communities of Belonging, and other programs to foster relationships with Christ and each other. We are praying for and eagerly awaiting our new Associate Pastor for Discipleship, whom we believe God will call for this role!
