Position Summary

The Associate Pastor (or Youth Director) is responsible for shepherding the middle and high school students of Simi Covenant Church toward a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. This individual will cultivate a Christ-centered, welcoming, and safe environment where students are discipled, equipped, and sent out as faithful followers of Jesus. Rooted in the Evangelical Covenant Church’s affirmations and theological commitments, the Associate Pastor (or Youth Director) will partner with parents, volunteers, and the broader church body to nurture a vibrant and integrated youth ministry and contribute to the broader pastoral and discipleship life of the church.

Qualifications

• A growing and personal relationship with Jesus Christ, marked by humility, integrity, and spiritual maturity.
• Agreement with and commitment to the theology, mission, and values of the Evangelical Covenant Church.
• Passion for discipleship, leadership development, and gospel outreach to youth and a relational approach to ministry.
• Teachable, collaborative, and self-motivated.
• Strong communication, teaching, organization, and leadership skills.
• Bachelor’s degree (required); theological education or pursuit of ECC credentialing (preferred).
• Background check and fingerprinting required per California AB-506.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
