The Student Ministries Director will be responsible for developing, overseeing, and implementing youth ministries at Old Cutler Presbyterian Church (OCPC-Miami, FL) for middle and high school age students. This role will be carried out as a member of the OCPC staff team working under the supervision of the senior pastor to fulfill the vision and mission of the church.

Responsibilities

The Student Ministries Director will help foster a growing relationship with Christ in an age appropriate, relational, gospel centered, and fun environment by:

  • Planning, developing, coordinating and executing all facets of student ministry, which would include programs to foster fellowship, worship, biblical teaching, discipleship, evangelism, as well as ministry and mission opportunities.
  • Building relationships with the students outside of scheduled group activities through meetings and attendance at student activities and events.
  • Communicating with parents in a way that encourages partnership and involvement; also supporting parents in effectively fulfilling their Christian parenting roles, in concert with other pastoral staff.
  • Overseeing and working in conjunction with the Assistant Student Ministries Director in fulfilling her responsibilities in Student Ministries.
  • Recruiting and equipping volunteers to assist the Director with both programing and relationships with the students.
  • Assisting in the development and oversight of the student ministry budget; also managing student fees for events and trips in a timely fashion.
  • Working to build a cohesive partnership between student ministries and Joyland children’s ministries
  • Participating as needed or requested in the evaluation and development of the overall church ministry.
  • Developing partnerships with Middle/Senior High schools and students near OCPC.

Requirements

  • A love for Christ, a heart for students, and a commitment to OCPC’s statement of mission and faith (The Westminster Standards).
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and 3 years’ experience in Student Ministry Leadership.
  • Knowledge of God’s Word and ability to communicate to middle and high school students in authentic and relevant ways individually and in group settings.
  • An ability to recruit, oversee, and develop staff and volunteers.
