The primary responsibilities will be to teach weekly youth Sunday school class (there is no Sunday school during the summer months) and lead a youth Bible study one night per week. We are looking for a committed evangelical Christian who has a genuine heart for people, is organized, and a conscientious self-starter.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach weekly youth Sunday school class (there is no Sunday school during the summer months).
• Offer one nightly youth Bible study per week.
• Work alongside the pastor to develop a method to empower the parents to disciple their teenagers.
• Plan occasional activities that seek to accomplish discipleship, missions, and/or unity (ex. Youth conferences, mission trips, paintball).

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree, working towards a four-year degree, or equivalent experience.
• Has a passion for loving youth, especially through teaching the Word of God and meeting the needs of this generation.
• Longs to empower parents with resources to disciple their children to love King Jesus with all their hearts.
• Has a clear testimony of his/her commitment to Jesus Christ and is growing in his/her faith.

Highlights of Serving at New Colony Baptist Church

• Currently youth group is small, which allows the future leader to mold the youth group.
• New Colony is located immediately next to the local high school of 1,600 students!
• Teenagers use New Colony’s parking lot as part of the high school parking lot.

The current students attending have parents who long to serve and support the next youth leader.

Salary

$20,000/yr. 10-15 a week (includes prep time).
