Over the last eighteen years, GCC has organically grown its Adult Education ministry to help facilitate the overall discipleship of members. As the church continues to grow and mature, GCC is looking for an experienced Education Pastor who will provide keen spiritual insight and relevant teaching practices to this ministry. An ideal candidate will have a strong background in Adult Education and a shepherding heart for God’s people. 

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead the vision and direction of all adult education ministry.
  • This includes church-wide Bible studies, membership, baptism, discipleship, pre-marital counseling and grow seminars (adult Sunday school). 
• Develop and evaluate effectiveness of curriculum for adult education courses.
• Facilitate adult classes by assigning instructors, coordinating calendar and managing logistics. 
• Assist preaching pastor with research for Sunday sermons as needed. 
• Lead and shepherd education team (both EM and KM). 
• Collaborate with shepherding staff to develop cell group materials. 

General Responsibilities

• Maintain designated office hours. 
• Participation in weekly staff meetings (Tues., Thurs., Sat.)
• Participation in weekly Saturday and Tuesday prayer meetings. 
• Participation in Early Morning Prayer meetings.
• Preaching as needed (TNP, EMP, Sunday, Special events).
• Presiding as needed. 
• Assist with special events as needed (retreats, Passion Week, Thanksgiving, Christmas, NYE). 
• Lead/assist in mission trips or mentoring trips as needed. 
• Assist with Shepherding as needed. 

Qualifications 

• Committed and mature disciple of Jesus Christ consistent in life devoted to prayer, studying the Word and obedience to the Lord’s calling.
• Completion of an MA or M.Div. from accredited theological seminary. 
• Ordination in CRC denomination preferred. 
• 3 years ministry experience, preferably in adult education. 
• Demonstrated giftings in teaching and curriculum development. 
• Love for shepherding and discipling young people. 
• Flexible with a willingness to learn and collaborate.
