An Agribusiness Specialist is a specific community development role
focused on empowering communities through relevant farming practices as
well as business expertise and entrepreneurial skills. The existing team
has a desire to see an agribusiness project begin, but the area is
outside their field of expertise. An agribusiness teammate needs to be a
champion of this area for Kalimantan, Indonesia. The existing team will assist with legal/cultural practicalities as well as network with previous and
existing agricultural projects in the country. A close partnership with
the Business Development Center is desired. An agribusiness teammate may reside outside the capital city, but such arrangements will need to be
made carefully and in consultation with the sister organization and
leadership. Animal husbandry is also an area of potential engagement.

How To Apply
All teammates will be evaluated on character and fit before skill
competency. Through agricultural training, farmers can implement
new strategies based on best practices for growing crops in their
location. Training, combined with micro-finance services and access to
markets, gives subsistence farmers the ability to increase production,
acquire land, and improve their livelihoods. This cycle strengthens the
health of entire communities.
