General Description
Pinewoods Presbyterian Church (PCA) is a multi-generational, gospel-centered congregation that exists to glorify God and enjoy him forever by making joyful, connected, Spirit-filled, outward-facing disciples of Jesus Christ. The Assistant Pastor of Student Ministries (APSM) is responsible for helping Pinewoods students, their friends, and their families connect to Jesus and the church. The APSM is responsible for building teams and developing systems that will facilitate gospel centered growth and maturity in the lives of our students, their friends, and family members.
Qualifications
- The APSM must be a joyful, hard-working, follower of Jesus.
- The APSM must meet the character qualifications for elders listed in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
- The APSM must have communication skills and a passion for personal evangelism, 1-on-1 and small group discipleship, mercy ministry, and missions.
- The APSM must maintain a humble spirit and commitment to teamwork with other pastors, directors, non-pastoral staff, elders, deacons, and church members.
- The APSM must maintain appropriate discretion and confidentiality regarding personal information that may be shared during 1-on-1 discipleship, counseling, session meetings. (Note: Pinewoods Church has strict reporting policies related to child abuse.)
- The APSM must have an earned M.Div. or related graduate degree. (Church History, Biblical Studies, Counseling, etc.) Current students will be considered, with the expectation of graduation.
- The APSM must be an ordained or ordainable teaching elder in the Presbyterian Church in America.
- The APSM must have ministerial experience with Student and Family ministries in a local church context.
