Assistant Pastor/Director of Youth and Young Adults

About the Position:

Kirkmont Church is seeking a qualified candidate to lead its ministry efforts to youth 6^th-12^th grade as well as college-aged young adults.  We anticipate this staff person spending about 30 hours a week in youth ministry and about 10 hours in young adult ministry.  This position also offers many opportunities to grow in other ministry areas such as working with a growing, cohesive staff; preaching; pastoral care; etc.

About Kirkmont:

                Kirkmont Church is a growing, multi-generational congregation with about 450-500 in attendance on a weekly basis.  Kirkmont is located in Beavercreek, a wonderful suburb of Dayton, Ohio.  While Beavercreek is a great place to live and raise a family, like most suburbs, it is filled with people who don’t know Jesus.  Kirkmont is not a perfect church, but it is a healthy church.  We are focused on the Great Commission, have a great group of elders, a friendly staff who works well together, and a congregation that is at peace and unified with each other.  We are currently building a new children’s ministry wing and multipurpose room for our growing congregation.

About Our Youth Ministry:

Our current Youth Ministry is divided into Jr. (6-8) and Sr. High (9-12) and meets weekly on Sunday and Wednesday nights.   We average around 35 kids in attendance total for the two age groups, with about 50-60 youth total currently in the church.  Our current Youth Ministry Director leads our youth ministry and our music ministries.  We’ve outgrown one staff person serving in both of those roles so that staff person will focus on music ministry when we fill this position.  This role also manages a part-time youth ministry assistant and has the potential to lead to hiring and managing additional youth ministry staff/interns.

About Our Young Adult Ministry:

                Our Young Adult Ministry is newer in the life of our church.  We currently have volunteers who take our young adults to lunch after worship (paid for by the church) once or twice a month.  Additionally, they lead a young adult small group on Sunday evenings.  While this staff person will have limited hours to designate to this area, there is so much potential to minister to our current young adults and to the ones in the community.

Compensation:

Salary and benefits = $86,000 total package.
