General Overview
In obedience to God’s call and under supervision of the Senior Pastor will provide spiritual guidance and support to the church, its members, staff and the community at large. This role will assist in executing the church mission. The Associate Pastor will provide assistance with pastoral duties (preaching and pastoral care) as needed. The teaching,
leadership of the children, youth and young adult ministries, and community outreach are also included.
Pastoral Responsibilities
- Provide spiritual guidance and support to members of the church and community.
- Assist in areas as needed in support of the Senior Pastor.
- Attend and participate in church activities throughout the week including evening activities to the extent as possible.
Children Youth and Young Adult Ministry Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive Youth, Children and Young Adult programs including weekly meetings, the leadership of Young Adult Bible Studies, retreats, mission trips and service projects.
- Mentor and disciple all children, youth, and young adults.
- Coordinates and oversees all aspects of the church’s Safe Sanctuary Policy.
- Develops nursery workers and volunteers schedules and delegates volunteer responsibilities.
Community Outreach Responsibilities
- Develop and execute outreach programs to schools and other organizations outside of the church.
- Create and maintain relationships with other local churches and Christian groups to facilitate children, youth, and young adult family programs.
- Lead the outreach to unchurched youth, children, and young adults in our community.
Associate Pastor Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in theology, ministry or related field.
- A passion for helping young people grow in their faith.
- Strong social media skills, an online presence, coupled with an outgoing, positive personality.
- Able to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
