Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church (ARP)

Position Overview
Full-time Associate Pastor reporting to the Senior Pastor and the Session. A major focus of this position involves outreach to young adults, families, and children. Full support and participation in all ministries is expected.

Responsibilities
1. Plan, develop, and lead Chapel ministry programs and activities to reach young adults, families and children in the local community.
2. Disciple the youth in fundamental doctrines of the Christian faith from a Reformed perspective through activities involving worship, discipleship, evangelism, fellowship,
recreation, service, and missions. This includes planning and coordinating youth activities such as Bible study, Sunday school, youth retreats, vacation Bible school, service projects, and field trips.
3. Initiate and participate in local outreach opportunities that help our church demonstrate the love of Jesus to our community.
4. Support the Senior Pastor and Elders with ministry responsibilities including preaching on Sunday as needed along with filling in on other teaching capacities, other activities and special church events as requested or needed.
5. Personally and intentionally build relationships with Chapel members and visitors by welcoming them to the Chapel, prayer, visitation and outreach as needed.
6. Work with the Senior Pastor to equip members to share the gospel with unbelievers and the unchurched in our community.
7. Regularly attend and participate in weekly Sunday morning worship services and Wednesday evening activities.
8. Meet with the Senior Pastor on a weekly basis for mentoring, prayer, planning and mutual encouragement.
9. Attend meetings of the Elders and Deacons.
10. Assist with or handle other one-time, miscellaneous or emergency church related assignments that may arise over time as requested by the Senior Pastor, Elders or Deacons.
11. Prepare a monthly Associate Pastor’s Activity Report to be shared with the session.

Qualifications
1. A follower of Jesus Christ, committed to the Bible as the inspired Word of God.
2. Meets the Biblical qualifications for leadership given in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
3. Exhibits a genuine love for people of all ages and demonstrates an ability to communicate the Gospel with unbelievers and the unchurched.
4. Affirms the doctrinal standards of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, as expressed in the Westminster Confession of Faith. (This document can be found at our denominational website: www.arpchurch.org)
5. Bachelor’s Degree required. Seminary (M.Div.) degree also required. Ordained or soon to be ordained, required.

Requirements
1. Successful background check.
2. Interviews with Sr. Pastor and Search Committee members.
3. Establishing and maintaining presence in the Chapel community. Residence should be within a reasonable distance from the Chapel in order to perform expected responsibilities (Ideal residence is somewhere between the town of Indialantic and the Sebastian Inlet State Park).
