Church Description: Rabat International Church is an English speaking, multiethnic, non-denominational church located in Rabat, Morocco. Our focus is on the English-speaking expat community in Rabat. We currently have about 130 attendees at Sunday worship, and 75 members. Our members and attendees come from 20-30 nations, and various denominational backgrounds. Additionally, we are a fairly transient church with most of our congregation only living in Morocco for <4 years. More information can be found at rabatchurch.org.
Position Description: We are looking for an Associate Pastor (AP) who will partner with and be responsible to the Lead Pastor in shepherding the church. The main focus of the AP will be overseeing congregational care, discipleship ministries, and outreach. For congregational care, the AP will build relationships with people, and ensure the care of our members. For discipleship ministries, the AP will develop various avenues for growth, and seek to integrate people into these ministries. These include small groups, men’s & women’s ministries, topical groups, and occasional events. For outreach, after becoming familiar with the context, the AP will seek to equip and mobilize people. Additionally, the AP will participate in many other areas of ministry including: occasional preaching, serving on the leadership team, and other areas according to their gifts, desires, and the needs of the church. Please note the AP will receive a partial salary from the church, and will likely need to raise additional funds.
Qualifications:
- Meets the biblical qualifications for pastors (1 Timothy 3; Titus 1).
- In agreement with the RIC Statement of Faith and RIC Covenant (These can be found at rabatchurch.org).
- Experience in pastoral ministry, with a shepherd’s heart.
- Experience working with people of different cultures than one’s own.
- Experience working with people of different theological backgrounds than one’s own.
- Experience living overseas.
- Highly relational.
- Self-starter.
- Organized.
- Fluent in English.
- Willingness to learn French or Moroccan Arabic for basic living needs.
- Willingness to make an initial 3-year commitment.
- Ordination preferred.
