This is a full-time director position responsible for giving overall leadership to the Bethel Church Children’s Ministry. The position is responsible for training and equipping staff, volunteers, and parents as disciple-makers. This position will work collaboratively with the Next Gen Pastor to develop and implement a comprehensive spiritual growth pathway for children, students, and the families of Bethel Church.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ministry leadership to the Children’s Ministry. Ensure the ministry is aligned with the overarching Mission, Vision, and Values (MVV) of Bethel Church.
  • Select and implement biblically sound curricula for the age-appropriate age level, newborn to 5th grade. Ensure Bible lessons and activities are relevant, engaging, and aligned with Bethel’s mission and values.
  • Recruit, train, and equip volunteer teams to assist in various aspects of the children’s ministry. Provide leadership, guidance, and support to volunteers to ensure effective teamwork.
  • Oversee the Sunday Bethel Kids (SBK) program on Sunday mornings and other weekday ministry programming. Plan and oversee special and outreach events that foster spiritual growth and build a sense of community.
  • Offer spiritual care and support to children and their families. Be available to listen to children’s concerns, pray with them, and provide guidance on their spiritual journey.
  • Implement and enforce child safety and protection policies to ensure a secure environment for all children participating in ministry activities.
  • Regularly communicate with parents or guardians to keep them informed about upcoming events, curriculum, and their child’s progress and involvement in the ministry.
  • Provide oversight and development of councils and other leadership teams.
  • Work with the Senior Associate Pastor in the development and implementation of the annual budget for the ministry. Manage budget and resources allocated to the children’s ministry and ensure effective use of resources to achieve ministry objectives.
  • Engage with the local community to reach out to children and families outside the church, inviting them to participate in ministry activities and events.
  • Ensure excellence in assimilating families and individuals new to Bethel.
  • Keep current with ministry trends and continue personal and professional growth through mentoring/coaching relationships.
  • Serve on the Ministry Leadership Team, collaborating with other ministries in order to establish a comprehensive and unified approach to achieve the mission of Bethel Church.

  • Must be a humble and effective communicator, both with children and adults. Be able to convey biblical teachings in a way that is relatable and understandable to children while also engaging with parents and guardians.
  • Knowledge and adherence to child safety and protection policies.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Christian education or related field.
  • Experience in Children’s Ministry or related field.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a large church environment, preferred.
