Other Details

Valley Hope Church, an Evangelical Presbyterian Church, is seeking a full-time church planting resident. This residency is intended to last 18-36 months (depending on readiness) as a term of intentional formation and preparation, as well as the beginning of the church planting process. The desired outcome is a prepared planter who will pastor a church plant within a 20 mile radius of Valley Hope’s current location. The planter will be supported throughout the residency and planting process by a cohort of regional EPC churches and partnering church planting network. Please follow the link for a packet of information about the region, the church, and the residency.

Resident will gain service and leadership experience across all areas of ministry at Valley Hope Church. Early emphasis will be on both the understanding of the discipling and planting culture at Valley Hope and the refinement of skills needed in the various ministry areas. Opportunities will be given in all areas so that the resident can experience, for example: administrative demands, leading and serving volunteers, larger group teaching and preaching, small group leadership, and the communication of vision. The final portion of this residency will see responsibilities shift into the formation of a core group, the identification of, study, and outreach towards the new community for planting. The Resident will work closely with the Valley Hope Church Planting Team for support and guidance throughout this residency so that they are developed both in their skills as a leader and personally, as a follower of Jesus. The residency will include relationship and service with other nearby EPC churches in a network of relationships in Western North Carolina.
