Position Summary:

This position is responsible for leading the praise team and the congregation in contemporary worship through music.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Leads the Praise Team

• Discerns the talent level of the various Praise Team members and ensures that musical selections are consistent with the abilities of the team.
• Organize and lead the Praise Team in rehearsals and in worship services.
• Organizes a rotation of musicians and vocalists.
• Recruit new team members and shepherd existing members.

Prepares and Leads Music for 9:45am Contemporary Worship Service

• Facilitate a weekly worship experience that is yielded to the Holy Spirit and empowers God’s people to worship God in spirit and in truth.
• Stays current on contemporary musical trends.
• Studies and understands the demographics of the congregation.
• Coordinates with the Contemporary Worship Associate Pastor and/or Senior Pastor regarding worship themes.
• Plans music consistent with themes and the liturgical calendar.
• Equipment maintenance

• May be assigned other tasks by the Senior Pastor and/or clergy team.

Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:

• Minimum High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Demonstrated experience performing and leading musicians in a contemporary worship setting.
• Knowledge of music from a wide variety of styles that are appropriate for Christian worship.
• Attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills.
