Summary:
The Director of Ministry Operations supports the ministry of Cross Creek Presbyterian Church (PCA) by working with the pastor, staff, and ministry teams to coordinate ministries across the congregation and to facilitate the execution of session-determined goals.

  • Report to the Lead Pastor.
  • Work with staff, ministry team leaders, and elders.
  • Weekly Commitment: Part or Full-Time.

Responsibilities:

Partner with the Lead Pastor.

  • Work with Lead Pastor to identify key gaps and metrics towards church goals of connecting our neighbors to Christ, growing members in their faith, and equipping them to serve one another in love.
  • Meet regularly with the pastor for prayer, mutual encouragement, and ongoing education.
  • Collaborate on best practices for church communication and theming.
  • Organize the Session’s annual reviews of the pastoral staff.

Oversee staff direction, development, and care.

  • Regularly lead staff meetings.
  • Train staff with individual clarity and kindness, making CCC a place of spiritual, professional, and emotional development.
  • Oversee team strategic initiatives and implementation, using the SMART goal process to build unity and set individual and team goals that move key CCC objectives forward.
  • Review budgetary strategy in partnership with the church treasurer and bookkeeper.
  • Organize annual performance reviews.

Oversee the Coordination of Ministry Teams.

  • Coordinate and facilitate the efforts of ministry teams to meet ministry goals via SWOT analysis and SMART goals.
  • Attend the meetings of the Ministry Teams, as appropriate.
  • Connect the Session with the ministry team leaders.

Implement the strategic direction of the church via the leadership of the Strategic Planning Team.

  • Observe & learn how to execute Cross Creek’s yearly strategic planning summit.
    • Further clarification: A 5-year strategic plan has already been made. We want the director to learn the process of this annual summit and continue its implementation.
  • Plan and lead meetings for the strategic planning team, including agenda, follow-up (monthly or bi-monthly as needed).
  • Provide month-to-month direction and encouragement.
  • Liaise between the SPT and church officers.
  • Beginning 2027: Organize and lead the Strategic Planning Team in its annual summit.

Sessional Leadership and Other Ministry Opportunities

  • Serve on the Session.
  • Preach 2-4 times per year.
  • Teach or coordinate 1-2 family seminars a year.
