Love Lake Norman is a 6-year old church serving the Lake Norman area. We’re a dynamic, growing church with a white-hot mission to help people find and follow Jesus. Love Lake Norman is a non-denominational church focused on being a church unchurched people love to attend. We meet in the beautiful and brand-new Cain Center for the Arts in Cornelius. Title: Director of Student Ministry

Days: Sunday – Thursday + Weekend Events and Camps

The One-Sentence Aspiration:

Lead Love Lake Norman to create compelling, creative, and safe environments where students can find and follow Jesus.

Ministry Focus:

• Develop and execute a relational ministry approach to students that reaches beyond the walls of the church and into local schools, neighborhoods, and homes.
• Recruit, train, and build a volunteer team that loves students and cares for them well, helping students take steps from where they are to where God wants them to be.
• Create environments (both large and small) where students can explore and grow in their faith – this includes regular large group gatherings as well as small group environments.
• Build a consistent, solid foundation for Next Wave to thrive.
• Be the “lead visionary” when it comes to student ministry…lead our staff team and key volunteers in how we think about, involve, and serve students.
• Cast compelling vision to the church regularly for effective ministry to Lake Norman students.
• Provide an atmosphere of discipleship, where students are actively growing in their relationship with Christ.
• Maintain and communicate an active calendar to students, parents, and the church, that includes regular student gatherings as well as retreats, groups, outreach events, etc, as they serve the mission of the ministry.

Other Responsibilities:

• Regular communication opportunities/responsibilities in the worship experience and medium-sized groups.
• Be a self-starter and able to function at high capacity in a lower-structured environment.
• Be a pastor and shepherd to people around you, even if outside your ministry area.
• Attend Staff Meetings and other leadership meetings regularly.
• Be available for various retreats and conferences the Staff Team will attend together.
